Karla Cortez-Duda, DPT
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Karla majored in biology and psychology at Western Illinois University and then went on to receive a doctorate in physical therapy from
Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, Illinois.
Karla received her clinical education in Hines, VA where she treated patients with spinal cord injuries and at Loyola University and Sherman Health in Elgin, Illinois where neurology and orthopedics were her primary areas of specialization.
While the core of Karla’s clinical education was in-patient rehab and acute care, after working in physical therapy care for some time, Karla has come to find that her true passion lies in working in out-patient therapy. Her main areas of interest include post-surgical, spinal cord injury, cerebrovasuclar accident and the injuries of dancers.
Compassionate and caring, Karla enjoys being able to spend time with her patients listening to and educating them on their conditions. She especially enjoys designing customized treatment programs and sharing in each achievement.
Karla is excited to be a part of the Optimal Health Institute team and in an environment were providers of varied disciplines come together as a team to meet the needs of patients, delivering truly integrated healthcare and bringing patients back to their optimal level of functioning.
